1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the HOMEi application ("App") and services provided by HOMEiStudent Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

HOMEi is a household management application designed to help people living in shared accommodation organise bills, chores, shopping lists, and household activities. The service is available as:

  • Free Tier: Full access to all features with advertisements
  • Premium Subscription: Ad-free experience for £2.99 per month

3. Account Registration

To use HOMEi, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised account access

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Share content that is harmful, offensive, or violates others' rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Use automated systems to access the App without permission
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use the App to harass, bully, or intimidate others

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create within the App (household data, lists, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and process this content to provide our services.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you add, and that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable laws.

6. Household Membership

When you join or create a household:

  • Information you add will be visible to all household members
  • You can leave a household at any time
  • Household creators can remove members
  • If the household creator leaves, ownership may transfer to another member

7. Subscriptions and Payments

If you subscribe to HOMEi Premium:

  • Payment will be charged to your app store account
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the renewal date
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store settings
  • No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

8. Intellectual Property

The HOMEi App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by HOMEiStudent Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our software
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the App
  • Use our trademarks without permission
  • Create derivative works based on the App

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Any specific results from using the App
  • The accuracy of financial calculations or bill splits (users should verify important figures)

HOMEi is a household organisation tool, not a financial service. We are not responsible for disputes between household members.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HOMEiStudent Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Fail to pay subscription fees (for Premium users)

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
